I'm Shabreen, and my own journey has really shaped how I approach this work. Growing up, I learned a lot about understanding different viewpoints especially the challenges of growing up in an ethnically diverse environment and finding my place in the world. Later on, realising I'm neurodivergent helped so many of those early experiences click into place.
These life lessons taught me how to truly listen, to pick up on what's not being said, and to connect with people from all walks of life, no matter their background or feelings.
I've spent my career working in different places, from International businesses to schools, always focussed on helping young people, families, and professionals. Whether it was dealing with tough situations or just building better relationships, my goal was always the same: to create a safe space where people feel heard, understood, and ready to grow.
When it came time to name my practice, I wanted something that felt right, something that connected to my own story. My name, Shabreen (صابرين), actually means "the patient ones" in Arabic. So, calling it "The Patience Practice" just felt like a natural fit, a nod to my heritage and the resilience and quiet strength passed down through my family.
For me, patience isn't just a word; it's a way of being. It's that steady persistence we all need, the wisdom we gain from our experiences, the clarity that comes from understanding ourselves better, and the belief that we can always keep growing, even when things are tough.
The Patience Practice is my way of offering that kind of space to you – a place where your story matters, where who you are is genuinely respected, and where we can work on your growth with kindness and understanding.
At The Patience Practice, people seek support for a whole host of reasons - whatever the reason, we are here to offer a safe, judgment free, confidential space.

Beginning counselling takes courage, and everyone’s needs are different. While many people find around six sessions helpful, more complex or long‑standing issues may need more time. We can explore this together in your consultation once we have a clearer sense of what you’re hoping for.
Working in a person‑centred way, the pace and frequency of sessions are guided by you. we generally recommend weekly or bi‑weekly appointments, and we can find a time that fits comfortably into your life.
Ultimately, the number of sessions depends on your goals. Some people prefer short‑term support; others value a longer‑term space to explore and grow. We’ll check in regularly to make sure the work continues to feel right for you.
Payment is due at least 24 hours before the session. If payment is not made 24 hours beforehand, the session will be cancelled.
